From my son's FB this morning -
Question.. How many of you have kids? How many of you have an fire/emergency plan to get out of the house? How many of you have insurance for your house? Or for your car? Or for YOU?? Now, how many of you have a contingency plan for when the whole country falls apart? Only one of these preparations is considered by the military & DHS to be "terroristic". I'll let you figure out which one..
Why is it "terroristic" to be prepared, just in case?? It's not like we plan to CREATE this havoc.. You don't plan to burn down your own house, but you prepare.. You don't plan to wreck your car, or hurt yourself on purpose, but you prepare, just in case.. Then why is it so "taboo" by others, or conceded by the DHS as "terroristic" if you plan for wide spread problems throughout the country?? Even if the "planning" is nothing but learning how to live off the land, live without amenities such as running water, or electricity, or home protection.. Seems crazy, until it's useful..
Don't have to look far to see who raised either of them.
I'm so freaking proud of both my boyz.
I just needed to brag for a minute.
My sons have become amazing men.
We return you now to your regularly scheduled program.

Comment by Barb Dwyer on November 8, 2012 at 9:10 I should add here that he's got no idea about Freeskilling Wednesdays
or what his Mom is up to online, really.
and I'm amazingly doubtful he'd have time to listen even if he knew.

There’s a small retaining pond behind the college apartments. I go back there several times a day; it’s a good area that forces me to have a bit of a walk. …
