Ready Aim Fire
Three bloody words
preparedness,
targeted concentration
the spit of mechanical death.
Down the elected sights of our leaders
we tense for the kill
setting our aim on distant quarry
we harry him still
we are frozen in electronic view
as our spite reaches outrageous extremes
death presented with detachment
oblivion delivered without the screams
obliteration without consideration
the soul wrenched forcibly from vision
without a seconds thought
we kill with remote soldiers flying directed drones
then we turn and shrug our shoulders
we know we've all been bought
its not a shrug of we don’t care its very far from that
its a shrug of complicity its a shrug of duplicity
its a movement of disrespect
a shrug we'd all rather forget
but we shrug our shoulders yet
shrug
a meaningless word in an uncaring world
an excuse to do nothing about it
