Occupii Disability

I'm starting this group to provide a resource for our fellow citizens who are disabled. All are welcome disabled or not. Whatever your life experience I'm sure you have a contribution to make. Most of us know, work with or care for, a friend, colleague or relative who is disabled. We can all see the stress that our brothers and sisters are suffering from under the current corrupt system, and I for one would like to help. The disabled in this world deserve a voice and a presence in this momentous…See More

Occupy North America

An open group for all people Occupying within the continent of North America. Why create this group? If an Occupier wishes to join, however, feels unsafe stating their host country out of security concerns, I would advise they join this group as opposed to a specific #Occupy Country Group. We welcome all Occupiers from all over and across the world! WELCOME NORTH AMERICANS! WELCOME EVERYONE!~For the best flow of language and information, I kindly ask that all information within this group be…See More

WomenOccupy

To provide women across occupations with resources for creating safer spaces and feminist organizing. Building on the example of Occupy Wall Street, we will help to create and be a space for tools and shared best practices. A space for a conversation beyond local occupations, to allow activists to connect globally. To support the needs of women co-creating equal participation in the movement.See More

Occupy International Sustainability Group

WelcomeThis group is where we share ideas, report on existing sustainability projects and provide practical and technical solutions. The idea is that we can create several transferable sustainability models to roll out in our towns and cities and eventually reduce our communities reliance on the monetary system. The big planLets persuade people in our communities to take part, get them to switch to credit unions, set up their own…See More

Hello Sandra,

My name is Christian Fuchs, I am professor at Uppsala University and chair of the European Sociological Association's Research Network for Communications and Media Research.

What is the role of social media like Occupii, Facebook and Twitter in occupations and protests? Was the Arab spring a "Twitter and Facebook" revolution? How does the Occupy movement use social media? Is it a social media movement or something different?

We are a group of researchers at Uppsala University in Sweden that is headed by me and that is keen to find out answers to these questions. Therefore we conduct the OccupyMedia! Survey. We invite some users of Occupii  to participate in it, and were therefore happy if you could take 15 minutes time in order to help us find out what role social media play in contemporary protests:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WG7JRG2

If you have any more questions about the survey, please contact us. If you do not find time to participate or simply find such surveys not interesting or annoying, then please simply ignore our request and excuse any inconvenience. Thanks a lot!

Further information about social media research and the background of this survey can be found in this article:
http://occupynewsnetwork.co.uk/why-social-media-research-matters-for-occupy/

If you find this survey a good idea, then we are happy if you can also tell others about it.

Best, Christian Fuchs

The Importance Of Reverse Phone Lookup.

phone number search

The first three digits of the phone number would also help them locate the owner of the phone number. The thing is that if they had just run a phone number lookup, they could have found each other! Before you get any ideas, let me tell you that these sites are perfectly legal and also offer their services free of cost. This happens to many different people all over the world and many of them don't know how they can identify these pranksters. It's extremely… Continue

We are supposed to be in this together!

Posted by Nette Mom on April 26, 2013 at 20:55 0 Comments

I was just endiing a campaign in Michigan against our Governor, and wondered what more was out there, what more can I do to help make my country the place I used to love, when I stumbled across a thing called Livestream, where people with the same purpose (supposedly) or like mindness could come together, chat, discuss, plan, and act and I was to say the least, excited. I started chatting and made so many friends and it was then I realized, that I had been wrapped up in my own small…
