I am happy to answer your questions:
- The OccupyMedia! Survey does not have any commercial purpose. There is even no funding for it.
- As explained on the survey's start page, the data will be open domain, i.e. open data, which means accessible to everyone on the Internet, without payment.
- I will write my own analysis of it that will be published as a research report in the open access online journal tripleC http://www.triple-c.at, so everyone will be able to access the report without payment. The journal is non-commercial and non-profit and open access.
Zenfupanda said… What possible use could such a survey have? Are you conducting research for some marketing company.Where will this information end up and will it be open source?Or pay to read.Or sold exclusively to the highest bidder or your university?Or do you even get say in how it may or may not be used in the future.Or is it just research for another book?Questions questions Professor Fuchs as you see i have quite a few of my own.Awaiting your reply. Kindest Regards Zenfupanda

What is the role of social media like Occupii, Facebook and Twitter in occupations and protests? We are a group of researchers in Sweden who is keen to find out and therefore conduct a survey amony activists. We invite some users of Occupii to participate in it, and were therefore happy if you could take 15 minutes time in order to help us find out what role social media play in contemporary protests: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WG7JRG2 If you have any more questions about the survey, please contact us. If you do not find time to participate, then please simply ignore our request. Thanks a lot.

I was just endiing a campaign in Michigan against our Governor, and wondered what more was out there, what more can I do to help make my country the place I used to love, when I stumbled across a thing called Livestream, where people with the same purpose (supposedly) or like mindness could come together, chat, discuss, plan, and act and I was to say the least, excited. I started chatting and made so many friends and it was then I realized, that I had been wrapped up in my own small…
