Hello occupiiers.  I am a 41 year old ecologist, Buddhist and long-term member of the Green Party of England and Wales.  My aim is to help people get out of the system as much as they can whether through local trading schemes, growing their own vegetables, or even just supporting the creative alternatives that are currently existing in their area.

As well as that bottom-up plan to provide alternative solutions to the current system, I believe that the system also has to be changed for those who cannot, or do not want, to leave alternatively, but are sick of being short-changed by their government and multinational corporations as they stand.

Good luck to you all and be careful out there ;-)

Hello Andy

My name is Christian Fuchs, I am professor at Uppsala University and chair of the European Sociological Association's Research Network for Communications and Media Research.

What is the role of social media like Occupii, Facebook and Twitter in occupations and protests? Was the Arab spring a "Twitter and Facebook" revolution? How does the Occupy movement use social media? Is it a social media movement or something different?

We are a group of researchers at Uppsala University in Sweden that is headed by me and that is keen to find out answers to these questions. Therefore we conduct the OccupyMedia! Survey. We invite some users of Occupii  to participate in it, and were therefore happy if you could take 15 minutes time in order to help us find out what role social media play in contemporary protests:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WG7JRG2

If you have any more questions about the survey, please contact us. If you do not find time to participate or simply find such surveys not interesting or annoying, then please simply ignore our request and excuse any inconvenience. Thanks a lot!

Further information about social media research and the background of this survey can be found in this article:

http://occupynewsnetwork.co.uk/why-social-media-research-matters-for-occupy/

If you find this survey a good idea, then we are happy if you can also tell others about it.

Best, Christian Fuchs

The Importance Of Reverse Phone Lookup.

phone number search

The first three digits of the phone number would also help them locate the owner of the phone number. The thing is that if they had just run a phone number lookup, they could have found each other! Before you get any ideas, let me tell you that these sites are perfectly legal and also offer their services free of cost. This happens to many different people all over the world and many of them don't know how they can identify these pranksters. It's extremely… Continue

We are supposed to be in this together!

Posted by Nette Mom on April 26, 2013 at 20:55 0 Comments

I was just endiing a campaign in Michigan against our Governor, and wondered what more was out there, what more can I do to help make my country the place I used to love, when I stumbled across a thing called Livestream, where people with the same purpose (supposedly) or like mindness could come together, chat, discuss, plan, and act and I was to say the least, excited. I started chatting and made so many friends and it was then I realized, that I had been wrapped up in my own small…
