Hey Mark [FU] Smith, I like the sound of your righteous anger. The system, I would agree, is a sinking or sunken ship and the best that can be done is to abandon it for a new system - a system 180 degrees on a different 'course' - using different paradigms [such as cooperation, justice, bottom-up democracy, peace, equality, love of and one with Nature, love of and oneness with all of humanity, disgust with greed and oligarchy, etc.]. The system, as you have put very well IS RIGGED and the 'levers' or 'buttons' on the 'voting machines' are connected to nothing. It's time to, as Mario Savio said so well so long ago now..."There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart that you can't take part! You can't even passively take part! And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus -- and you've got to make it stop! we could use support on March 28th at Occupy New Haven, we had an eviction date which we served an injunction and won a temporary 2 week stay. Looking for anyone who can make it t New Haven, plenty of room and supplies :)

And I'm unsubscribing to this discussion. ActiveSince60s is correct, that it isn't conducive to productive discussions. Those have to take place face to face or in chat rooms where political operatives can't stifle, disrupt and suppress any productive discussions..

You didn't say that you think most people wouldn't want to participate in decision making? It is right there in black and white for everyone to read that you said it.

Why wouldn't people want to participate in decision making unless they're lazy, apathetic, irresponsible, and otherwise contemptible?

The right to participate in decisions making is what the American Revolution was about, and is the sine qua non of democracy,.

You think that the Occupy movement is treading water? It is growing at an accelerated pace.

I'm in the US and this is a capitalist system, so if I were in need of any care, which is just your way of pretending to be subtle about calling me crazy, I'd be unlikely to get it.

I do believe that you are a trusting person, to the extreme--to the point of trusting a government that fewer than 6% of voters continue to trust. You didn't look at those videos, probably because you get paid by the post, have to stick to your script, and aren't allowed to respond to proven, fully documented facts that prove you wrong, except with ad hominem attacks in lieu of argument.I've been dealing with political operatives online for about 30 years now, and I recognize the stench.

You're not an Occupier, and your so-called "action" is to abandon Occupy and stick with politics as usual because you trust the system.

Watch the turnout in 2012, if we can get a halfway accurate report. I don't think there is anyone left in this country who trusts the system, not even you. You may work for it, but even those who work for it know better than to trust it. Nobody is as ignorant and gullible as you're pretending to be.

Voting for crooks and liars in the rigged elections of a corrupt system isn't going to accomplish anything. Boycott2012.

In the meantime, there were a lot of gullible people who believed they could trust something a politician said and were so devastated that Ron Paul didn't get the nomination that they've said they're not going to vote. But they will. Just watch. Shortly after the Republican nominee is announced, he'll throw a bone to Ron Paul, a campaign promise that he doesn't intend to keep, and Ron Paul will throw his support to whichever warmongering supporter of the Federal Reserve gets the nomination, so that they can get those voters back. And anyone gullible enough to have believed that voting for an incumbent politician in a rigged election could bring about change, will be gullible enough to vote for something who represents everyone Ron Paul claimed to oppose. It has happened before with both Ron Paul and Dennic Kucinich. The shills wouldn't be in Congress if they weren't party animals, and they're followers are too dumb to notice the bait and switch.

Today they say they won't vote, but tomorrow, if Ron Paul tells them to, which he will, they'll be out campaigning for Romney or whoever it is. I don't pay attention to that drivel because I know the game is rigged, but there are still voters like you who either really don't know, really don't care, or are getting paid some of those corporate billions to help get out the vote.

Then tell me how you propose to have a voice in government by voting in rigged elections. Oh, sorry, I forgot--you don't want a voice in government, you just want a vote for people who lie, cheat, steal and murder in your name. Because you're such a trusting soul.

The guy in the first video says that if you're a voter, to try to stay on top of it. But he doesn't suggest a way to stay on top of it. If an election official of 15 years in his own office can't even tell that an election was rigged, how could an ordinary voter?

Nothing I have written could reasonably lead to the tortured, twisted ideas you claim I make. What I have written depends on a faith in the ability of the American people that you claim I do not see. Not a single one of those "do you" questions comes remotely close to capturing what I have been saying. I am doing more to achieve rapid change in our society for the benefit of the 99 percent than almost anyone I see on any of the Occupy pages or sites. I have been calling for action since 8 November 2011, when I first realized that the Occupy movement was treading water. You have absolutely no knowledge of my personal circumstances, which means you are not qualified to determine whether I fit within the 99 percent or not. As with almost everything you have said, you bluster and carp but provide not one whit of proof to support your claims. You can believe all you want in how much the system is rigged. You are not offering an alternative. Anyone who knows me would find it laughable that someone would claim I don't trust ordinary people. I am one of the most trusting people you will ever encounter. I trusted you to continue this dialogue with some semblance of rationality. That has not been the case. I apologize for working you into the agitated state you have come to. I sincerely hope you receive the comfort and care you need.
