Occupy Worthing was formed on 15th of October. Initially there was very little support, but within a week or two, it became apparent that another Occupation was being set up just 14 miles away, along the coast in Brighton. It made sense to Occupy Worthing to join forces with Occupy Brighton, which several of us did. Occupy Brighton started on 30th October. IT was a great success, but unfortunately due to bad storms and being over run by many of the most disadvantaged people in society, it disbandend as a camp about two or three weeks ago. Occupy Brighton is still very much on the scene, but moving in a new direction.
Occupy Worthing will be holding its first open meeting on Tuesday 17th January at 8pm, at the Beechwood Hall Hotel in Worthing. All are welcome to attend.
