I think it would be a good idea to march on London to the Bank of England or maybe Canary Wharf?

They have a load of quite jumpy private security staff down there though. I was at the teach in at the FSA last Tuesday, the number of guards that were standing around just slowly increased as the meeting went on. They did not try anything though, someone must have told them we had an MP and a Peer with us, and a gaggle of press of course!

All the Occupy camps from all over the country, meeting in one place, for one large "Gathering". "Occupy" does'nt even get in the media anymore, -unless you watch press tv. Invite musicians to give out a good atmosphere. We have to unite to conquer!

I suppose we could have some sort of Occupy festival in the spring once the weather gets better.
Hylands park in Chelmsford hosts the V festival, that is owned by the council and is HUGE, so plenty of room for an Occupy festival. As we would not be charging (I would hope) there would be no need for all the disruption and closing off of the park that the V Festival brings.
Its a Tory council however - maybe the same thing down in Brighton where the Greens are in?

One answer to having "A bit of a do" whilst gathering would be not to tell anyone, it doesn't have to be a full on festival as such. More sort of organic, acoustic music scattered around about the place to lighten the mood for the thousands of people attending.
Trouble with telling the Authorities (They) about marches is that they will know in advance and will try to stop us or, will hem us in behind 8 foot steel barricades!

Permalink Reply by James Newman on January 24, 2012 at 20:05 I have suggested the same idea many times at Occupy LSX and I beleive they have carried out a march to the Bank of England. I think we need a routine march maybe starting off one day every week and growing to 3 or 4 days a week. Its a short distance from St Pauls and Finsbury Square meaning both sites can easily carry out such a march. This would also send a strong message to the bankers and the rest of the country that Occupy means business. The effect marching had on Occupy Wall Street was to bring the movement into the spotlight. Its hard for the media to ignore such an action but over time they have got used to ignoring the static occupation.
Also, to do such actions routinely would lift peoples spirirts so that they don't feel like the movement is stalled or going nowhere. I came across many people who had the feeling that movement had hit a bump in the road. The occupation of empty buildings brought that spark back to people including myself. We need to keep up a momentum in order to grow.

Although, saying that, the Guardian does seem to support us. There is a lot in there attacking the policies that we are complaining about.
Occupy Edinburgh Is having a series of "Flash mobs", I like the sound of that. It is sort of what i was getting at, but on a bigger scale.

I was just endiing a campaign in Michigan against our Governor, and wondered what more was out there, what more can I do to help make my country the place I used to love, when I stumbled across a thing called Livestream, where people with the same purpose (supposedly) or like mindness could come together, chat, discuss, plan, and act and I was to say the least, excited. I started chatting and made so many friends and it was then I realized, that I had been wrapped up in my own small…
