The purpose of this group is to share your skill set in order that we cant create a cohesive and symbiotic relationship building the bridges and infrastructure that is required to make this movement a force to be reckoned with.
You may think you have no skills that are relevant to occupy but you have, the greatest organisers are mothers, used to managing hectic schedules and making sure the kids are where they're supposed to be at a certain times, these skills are transferable, tech skills are not the be all and end all of occupy.
WE NEED YOU.
Whatever your strength, we all have weaknesses that need bolstering.

Comment by gael.bage on October 6, 2012 at 15:26 Tank you for te link GOR. Well i did that quiz in the above post gave it a break and did it again as some answers I was not sure about and I like to answer honestly - first time I came out as a communicator second as a builder so maybe I am a bit of both ! It set me thinking that self assesment can be subjective and even a bit biased lol, and in thinking of skills maybe we should look to confirm what we think are our skills. My gut often gives me intuitions and insights, and others told me I am insightful so next step was to check a quiz on insight - result was Empress of Insight, I scored high. My next thought was lets be honest here - it happens frequently but is not guaranteed, lol, be real, check a different insight quiz so I tried a CEB assesment for business insight after all I am not just gut feelings - I check these feelings out with a brain to bring some balance too. here is the result
Informed Skeptic
Still digesting this as they seem very different
Empress of insight v informed skeptic ! Thinking about it, my intuition developed quite young and at that time it was easier to let these insights run away with me sometimes though usually they served me and others well - so I learned to double check / confirm with my brain - there are some insigts so strong they leave no room for doubt and we act on them immediately others are more subtle just hunches and that is where checking out the facts come in handy, I guess we need bot to strike true balance and it takes time, lol possibly a lifetime to schieve that
So when are we starting the weekly meetings Windswept ?
Nul, what do you think - you up fot it too ?

Comment by Windswept Stars on July 24, 2012 at 4:42 Well, I am back from my occupation...Let's start implementing Occupy Skillset ASAP!!!! JFDI!!!!
Comment by Windswept Stars on July 6, 2012 at 5:00 I definitely think we could do weekly meetings about this subject, find out peoples talents, and put them to good use...yes I will facilitate!!!! perhaps right before the Monday or Thursday Roundtable meeting???? Either day works... An hour should do it...getting word out and active participation is crucial!!! Let's get it started!!!
Comment by Windswept Stars on June 21, 2012 at 17:44 Excellent job, "Nul"!
Indeed EVERYONE has a skill/talent that they can USE to help this movement!! It is NOT all tech info, as you have brilliantly pointed out! Mothers, fathers, artists/musicians, gardeners, carpenters, trash collectors, shopkeepers, cooks, cleaners, unemployed, students, veterans, homeless, people of all ages & backgrounds etc., the list is infinite...IMHO
We need active groups like this to teach everyone that they DO have IMPORTANT and NECESSARY SKILLS!! The key is PARTICIPATION by ALL in order to make this movement succeed!!!
Wake up SHEEPLE and learn about how to become self reliant! All of us have skills we can share and HELP one another to get away from the tyranny of corporations, banks, money, and corrupt governments!!!

I was just endiing a campaign in Michigan against our Governor, and wondered what more was out there, what more can I do to help make my country the place I used to love, when I stumbled across a thing called Livestream, where people with the same purpose (supposedly) or like mindness could come together, chat, discuss, plan, and act and I was to say the least, excited. I started chatting and made so many friends and it was then I realized, that I had been wrapped up in my own small…
