As regards a backup plan in case of government attention, we have the data backups, so its likely the site will be up again quickly on another platform, Its something we could think about more later on in development.

As far as facebook login goes, it was something that was requested early on in this site to make things easier for people.  Theres always a balance to be struck between interoprability and traceability, in this case we originally thought it was worth the trade off given that ning is a pretty public platform anyway.  This is something we should really discuss further when the new site comes online

Do you have a contingency plan for when SOPA/PIPA come into effect, in case Occupii is targeted?

When the Internet was shut down in Egypt, Twitter provided a facility to update a status by voice phone - any plans for anything like that?  Or (less desirable) what about a facility for an automatic pull from a linked Twitter a/c. to Occupii status?

Currently occupii.org is situated in the US on the ning platform.  We hope to be moving from this soon, this group is building towards that move.  If the US were to pull the plug, then we would be down for a while, but we would survive be reborn reasonably quickly on a different platform

A few security concerns:

How secure & hacker-proof are the servers used by Occupii.org? How do we know?

Are Occupii members' details encrypted on the servers?  If so, at what level?

Under what jurisdiction are the servers? If they're in the USA, how could disclosure of all members' details to the DHS, FBI, CIA, etc., more or less on demand, be avoided?

How could Occupii.org be accessed if the Internet kill-switch in the USA (or in some other country) was flipped?
