What is globalNOISE?

International activists involved in the Indignato and Occupy movements have begun a campaign to create GlobalNoise, a worldwide cacerolazo, or casserole march, on Saturday, October 13th, 2012. The hope is that local Occupations and Collectives will take up the call to march, using the method of a casserole march to highlight whatever issues are the most important to their community.

LONG DESCRIPTION

#globalNOISE was first proposed by Spanish #15M activists on http://potbanging.blogspot.com.es/2012/06/globalnoise-action.html and is now supported by groups around the world. The  main goal of GlobalNOISE will always be to create a feeling of solidarity among all the global movements now resisting austerity programs, ballooning student debt and consumer debt, and police brutality, among other things (for example, see #occupy #15m #yosoy132 #casseroles #G20 #Arabspring #russianrevolution #Sudanrevolts #greece #manifencours #VIA22). We think this solidarity can be expressed by doing the same thing on the same day all over the world - making a lot of noise or calling attention in any other creative way that you may think of.
For example by potbanging, music, shouting, and singing or performances. This follows the example of the remarkably successful student "casseroles" demonstrations in Quebec and also in Argentina, that involve noise with kitchen implements ... GlobalNOISE  doesn't have to be limited to 1 day - imagine making noise at lots of different protests all over the world, united as #globalNOISE. 
Right now we collect feedback from assemblies and try to spread the word about the proposal (email potbanging@gmail.com). 
 #globalNOISE could be a  simple way to  create and improve a system of coordination and  communication that will  be required for future actions.
  if we were to coordinate an  energy-blackout, some sort of  online protest or hack, or a boycott that  would more directly affect the  savage system of capitalism
We are asking you to bring this proposal to your local assembly or nearest group. Let us all try to make a single action on a globally agreed date by the grassroots movement and based on #Solidarity.
