This Group has been created to allow us all to share what we have learned, would like to learn or contribute to us individually or as a community in lessening our dependence on money. This is the key concept. What do we need to get by and yet are constrained to acquire it through the expenditure of money? Utilities, Food and Domestic amenites and requisites.
We all may suspect or are already fully aware of how the institution of money has effectively in the words of Mark Boyle "..creates a kind of disconnection between us and our actions.."
Its only when we analyse this concept do we realise how money has come to dominate every facet of our existence via the seduction of deliberate and purposeful marketing to induce cyclic consumerism to the indenture placed upon us by debt clothed in the myth of personal aspiration and acquisition of material wealth.
This is not natural. This is not the way it should be. It is against the very ethos of what it is to be a human in a human community. We are an empathic species that have been polluted and indoctrinated from birth into a way of life and to take our place on the hamster wheel.
We can change this. Bit by bit. Day by day. Choose everyday that passes to learn something new to lessen your dependence on those that DEPEND on your dependence.
From now on. I aint no hamster, and this aint no wheel.

Comment by fkem on April 15, 2012 at 12:48 I was looking for ways to heat water. Came across some great links which may need a new page. They are bio energy, energy derived from plants. Anyway, hope you find them as interesting as i do.
This is compost based bioenergy system invented by Jean Pain, hot water and gas is obtained from what is basically a compost heap. Its a two part video.

This is the same idea, has a great idea included, using a car radiator and fan to blow heat into the space.

This link goes through the cost implications of alternative energy systems and gives solutions. dont forget to follow the links too,

From above site http://mb-soft.com/public3/globalzl.html
This site shows how to build a generator which outputs an amazing amount of heat, but need regular attention.

The websites themselves are worth having a brows around, loads of good stuff there and no pushing products for sale, very satisfying.

I was just endiing a campaign in Michigan against our Governor, and wondered what more was out there, what more can I do to help make my country the place I used to love, when I stumbled across a thing called Livestream, where people with the same purpose (supposedly) or like mindness could come together, chat, discuss, plan, and act and I was to say the least, excited. I started chatting and made so many friends and it was then I realized, that I had been wrapped up in my own small…
