.......It's impossible not to be; is my short answer. :)
No doubt we are all here for 'similar' reasons although for certain we have walked different paths to arrive here...

Permalink Reply by mamakin on January 7, 2012 at 5:57 I am here because I have been waiting, sometimes not so patiently, for enough people to wake up so we can transform the world into a place the supports everyone (not just a few) in every way. What is blossoming restores my faith in humanity and hope for the future. You may say I'm a dreamer, but now I know for sure that I am not the only one!
Permalink Reply by Pepper Stephens on January 7, 2012 at 6:10 Really, I joined on accident. I overheard people at my college talking about starting Occupy Poughkeepsie, so I jokingly said to get various colleges in the area involved, and that's how I got attached to the college aspect of it. During my time I've been camping out in a park, talking with people, and even doing some jail time, the movement has made a bigger impact on my life, and has provided me with a fallback if anything ever did happen. I've learned to love my Occupy Family more than anything, and I've learned so much about what's happened to this country from the superpower it had once been. Why I'm here? Because I want to fix this nation, and Occupy is on the fast track of doing so.

For me, this has been a long road beginning with the time US aggression against the Vietnamese people was still heating up. This is a continuation of what I've done my whole life. That's it in a nutshell.
Permalink Reply by Volumes of Revolution on January 7, 2012 at 19:46 I am here because I believe that society, the individual and technology are a continuous interaction of infinite systems, and that our current systems are unsustainable without a collective awareness and a cooperative push for change.
Permalink Reply by ElectricBishop on January 7, 2012 at 21:54 I'm here to save at least ONE child from a needless death. (UNICEF report that 9.7 million children died needlessly last year) .. I can picture in my mind all those faces..
We must change our thinking. Successful species, like ants (250 million years) adapt their SOCIETY to best meet the needs of their PROGENY .... why don't humans try that? .. it clearly works ..
To survive, every human MUST have access to Fresh Water, Nutritious Food, Electricity, Warm Shelter, Basic Medicine.
I believe that to succeed, Occupy must endeavour to meet the above survival needs INDEPENDENTLY from our current systems.
.. on behalf of my 3 grandsons .... thanQ all ..
.. only ElectricMonks believe everything their told ...
.. bless you .. x

Permalink Reply by Mac Deprey on January 8, 2012 at 16:19 We're playing with half a deck as long as we tolerate that the cardinals of government and science should dictate where human curiousity can legitimately send its attention and where it can not. It's an essentially preposterous situation. It is essentially a civil rights issue, because what we're talking about here is the repression of a religious sensibility. In fact, not a religious sensibility, the religious sensibility. Not built on some con game spun out by eunichs, but based on the symbiotic relationship that was in place for our species for fifty thousand years before the advent of history, writing, priestcraft and propaganda. So it's a clarion call to recover a birthright.

There’s a small retaining pond behind the college apartments. I go back there several times a day; it’s a good area that forces me to have a bit of a walk. …

I was just endiing a campaign in Michigan against our Governor, and wondered what more was out there, what more can I do to help make my country the place I used to love, when I stumbled across a thing called Livestream, where people with the same purpose (supposedly) or like mindness could come together, chat, discuss, plan, and act and I was to say the least, excited. I started chatting and made so many friends and it was then I realized, that I had been wrapped up in my own small…
