We're trying to build a links 'site map' on occupii.org, by grouping good links
Please post links to independent news sources here, thank you!
(in no order)
3-monthly(ish) hard-hitting digest of intelligent funny news - in rhyme (it's not often you can say that)
I don't know who funds these guys(?) but they seem pretty good
"Direct Action Newssheet" (UK)
"Several regional groups run their own site based on a shared database."
There's a good list here:
More to come please post suggestions

Permalink Reply by Ozzy on January 4, 2012 at 13:15 I am a member of an online forum that has a page dedicated to alternative news sources. It is richly populated and updated as we find new sources. So, I'll just provide the link to that page if that's okay (otherwise I'll be copying and pasting quite a bit). Enjoy :)
Permalink Reply by Mungo on January 4, 2012 at 18:48 Great cheers Ozzy, this is why we need a (future) library/catalougue.... I posted links to other occupy Scotland resources in the Scotland group and didn't even know this existed!
Permalink Reply by Ozzy on January 4, 2012 at 19:00 You are most welcome! The forum got created just for that purpose. Amazing things were being posted on FB and elsewhere in many groups and stuff was getting lost, so we thought to combine all of it in one place and leave FB behind as our main source of comms. That forum has a great search function so, it's easy to find items. But now, this place is here too and I love it! Will populate both places as much as I can :D

Permalink Reply by Mungo on January 9, 2012 at 4:00 I watched that video kingfrederik and I gotta say.....pushing posters and Japanese girls licking doorknobs??? I'm struggling to see the parallels with Occupy!? Think i'll leave that out of the 1st post for now, but it raises the inevitable tough questions. Ozzy I think occupii is the place for link gathering! I've got some going on here too: see http://occupii.org/group/international I might be hunting the aa forum soon! If you want to help put more links (or whatever) on here I can give you admin access to groups i've made, Glasgow and Networks (linked above). Have started discussions in a couple of other groups too. We could link them all up and put subsections in appropriate groups.
Permalink Reply by Ozzy on January 13, 2012 at 7:08 Sure thing, I'd be very happy to help :) I'm out of country just now with irregular access to internet, I'll be back in UK on 20th Jan, so after that, I'd have more regular time to do what I can. I'll message you when I get back, much love xx

Permalink Reply by Hank Pfeffer on January 26, 2012 at 23:41 I have a Fb page called Methods and Tools, where i have posted many multiple media links, like a link to 12000 newspapers sites. Also, I am starting to organize an Occupy National Enquirer online. Sounds like you are ahead of me. Wanna talk? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Occupy-Methods-and-Tools/305118146190...

Permalink Reply by Mac Deprey on January 28, 2012 at 0:05 What about local (local by city), FREE, newspapers?
In my city for instance, there are various - local - free newspapers, whom are independent and publish some pretty decent articles.
Perhaps we could find some newspapers which operate around this model and make their content available online?
Just tossing an idea out there...
-Mac
EDIT - I am -NOT- advocating that we plaigarize local material which was worked very hard on ... WHAT I AM SAYING is that IF said content is ALREADY available on the internet for free, perhaps linking to said websites could be helpful.
I'll do some research. ;)

I was just endiing a campaign in Michigan against our Governor, and wondered what more was out there, what more can I do to help make my country the place I used to love, when I stumbled across a thing called Livestream, where people with the same purpose (supposedly) or like mindness could come together, chat, discuss, plan, and act and I was to say the least, excited. I started chatting and made so many friends and it was then I realized, that I had been wrapped up in my own small…
